Preparation to increase the income limit of Creamy layer in Rajasthan
Jaipur. National Backward Classes Commission (NCBC) has sought suggestions from all the State Governments to increase the income limit of OBC Creamery from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.
Neighboring state Haryana has opposed raising the income limit, while the state government has not yet cleared the trend.
The revenue limit of OBC Creamy layer in the Central Government and in most states is Rs. 6 lakhs, while in Rajasthan only the income limit is 2.5 lakhs.
Means the benefit of OBC reservation only on income of less than Rs 2.50 lakh or less. Above this, the income earners are kept in the category of creamy layer and they do not get the benefit of OBC reservation.
In addition to the OBC, the five castes including Gurjar, in the reservation received in SBC, also have a limit of 2.50 lakh rupees for the creamy layer. Some castes belonging to OBC and SBC have been constantly demanding to increase the income limit.
